Gold for TGW at International Rosé Championship

As you know one wine that has brought me great satisfaction is my Tempranillo Rosé, inspired by the sights and sounds of Seville and a tribute to the fun, vibrance, and excitement that is Spanish Tempranillo Rosado.

I have received some wonderful news from Krakow, Poland and I couldn’t wait to share it with you. I am pleased to announce that my Tempranillo Rosé has been awarded a gold medal at the International Rosé Championship! Here is the official announcement:

Tim Gramp Clare Valley Tempranillo Rosé Turns To Gold

Clare Valley, July 7, 2020 – Watervale-based winery Tim Gramp Wines has been awarded a gold medal in the prestigious International Rosé Championship, for its 2019 Clare Valley Watervale Tempranillo Rosé

The only competition of its kind in the world for Rosé, the International Rosé Championship is held each year at the picturesque 19th-century Sierakow manor house, near the beautiful medieval city of Krakow, in southern Poland.

Wines from all over the world were judged by a panel of 12 judges chosen from among the most knowledgeable experts in rosé wine (including Masters of Wine) representing 7 countries of the wine world.

The competition takes a new approach to wine judging so as to avoid the shortcomings of many contemporary wine contests. Instead of summing up points awarded on the basis of parametrical analyses, judges take their time to discuss the individuality and style of every single wine in the flight.

Delighted owner and winemaker Tim Gramp explained that “We were very interested in entering this unique competition that’s aimed exclusively at rosé wines. This exclusivity allows the judges to concentrate on the unique qualities of different rosés, which may get overlooked at more general wine competitions.”

Tim went on to say “This award vindicates our approach to rosé winemaking and helps explain this wine’s popularity among dedicated fans of quality rosé.”

This wine has always had a wonderful story, and from the first cleanskin test release the involvement of mailing-list members like yourself has been vital. Thank you so much.

Tim 💃 🍷
